Imaging Central ultrasound

Imaging Central places emphasis on general and interventional ultrasounds services.  This has been brought about by the installation of a third ultrasound machine in December 2017. The latest addition of the Philips EPIQ ultrasound is a welcome technological advancement.  Our sonographers are able to perform general diagnostic ultrasounds but also more advanced assessment such as shear-wave elastography (liver fibrosis assessment). The high-frequency linear transducer scan on the EPIQ is also providing impressive musculoskeletal imaging.  We encourage you to referrers and patients to visit us for elastography to assess liver fibrosis, musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations and nuchal translucency scans.

Ultrasound examinations are available on a daily basis within 24 hours.  There are saved spots available in the morning and afternoon to fit in urgent cases such as DVT scans, ectopic pregnancy, appendicitis and gynaecological emergencies.

Ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal treatments are more advanced at Imaging Central.  These include:

  • Ultrasound-guided Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injection for tendinopathy and tendon tears.
  • Ethanol and radiofrequency ablation of neuromas and in spinal related nerve pain.
  • Autologous Tenocyte Implantation (ATI) for regeneration of damaged tissue such as in tennis elbow and other joint tendon degenerations.

We are proud to present the widest range of ultrasound-guided interventional procedures.

Imaging Central has female sonographers on site on a daily basis.  All aspects of gynaecology and obstetrics scans are performed including nuchal translucency scan.

We encourage you to consider Imaging Central for an ultrasound scan that is typically available within 24 hours.  This short time frame compares favourably to other local providers where the wait time frequently exceeds seven days.
